25 Canada de la Cueva

February 25, 2024

The trail from the trailhead as mentioned earlier is now very strong. For the first time, I noticed that the trail now continues on the other side of the arroyo/wash that creates the canyon. The newer trail climbs to the top of the hill on the other side and eventually joins the arroyo downstream. I didn’t have my GPS to measure it, but the new trail offers the option for a shorter loop hike. Regardless, Canada de la Cueva is an interesting place for hiking and exploration.

Enough people have now hiked from the trailhead to make the faint two track leading to the canyon a strong and easily recognizable trail. After a short distance, the trail will fork. Both forks reach the canyon.
