Just as I was turning over the manuscript for the 3rd edition of the 60 Hikes book to the publisher, the Santa Fe County Open Space, Forest Service, and BLM dedicated a new bike trail from the Santa Fe Plaza to Diablo Canyon. The dogs and I managed to get a couple of pictures of the bike trail when we hiked at Diable Canyon a couple of weeks ago.
Diablo Canyon as always is spectacular.
The single-track trail is suitable for both bikes and hikes.
The Dead Dog Trailhead is 4.5 miles out from Diablo Canyon. It is named after a nearby well.
